BGLC have exciting opportunities for two Wotjobaluk people at the BGLC Production Nursery site based in Wail.
As a BGLC Nursery apprentice you will need to have:
· A passion for plants, nature and the outdoors
· A high level of self-motivation
· Good attention to detail and care
· Enjoy a physical work environment
· Prepared to work in various weather conditions
· Must have own transport to the work site
· Be prepared to complete the apprenticeship; 3-4 year commitment.
As a Wholesale Nursery Apprentice, we will train and develop you to gain hands on skill and knowledge in all aspects of the following:
· Plant Propagation
· Nursery production
· Plant care and maintenance
· Pest and Disease management
· Sales
· High levels of plant identification
· Seed collection methods and standards
· Direct seeding and direct planting of seedlings
BGLC will support the Wholesale Production Nursery Apprentices with industry standard award wages, support to complete Certificate III in Production Nursery, mentoring and additional professional development.
