BGLC is seeking Expressions of Interest from Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia and Jupagulk (WJJWJ) Peoples to become representatives of the Wotjobaluk Nations Festival Project Group.

BGLC is seeking Community Members to join the Wotjobaluk Nations Festival Project Group. This group will help shape a series of events in celebration of the 20-year Native Title anniversary for the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia, and Jupagulk Peoples.
On 13th December 2005, Native Title was determined for the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia and Jupagulk Peoples of the Wotjobaluk Nations, the first in Victoria.
The 13th of December 2025 marks the 20th anniversary of Native Title for the Peoples of the Wotjobaluk Nations, providing an opportunity to acknowledge the journey and celebrate many achievements.
In 2024, the BGLC Engagement team reached out to Community Members for suggestions on how to celebrate this milestone. The ideas collected were compiled into a proposed calendar of events, which BGLC is currently working to fund. Once funding is secured, the Wotjobaluk Nations Festival Project Group will finalise the details of the cultural programming and event features.
The Wotjobaluk Nations Festival Project Group will meet once per month July 2025 - December 2025 at the BGLC office with remote online access available.
If you are interested in joining the Wotjobaluk Nations Festivals Project Group, please fill out the form below.
Alternatively, please contact the Culture, People, Place team to register your interest verbally and have a yarn.
